Hai! Japantown is an annual summer celebration highlighting the culture, businesses, and community of Seattle’s historic Nihonmachi. In collaboration with Shishido Creative, I co-created graphics and marketing materials for the event.

We developed a playful “Hai! Tea” theme for the festival, incorporating fresh green graphics to create a visually cohesive brand. In collaboration with Shishido Creative, I helped bring this theme to life through event graphics and marketing materials. This approach helped build excitement and foster community connection, resulting in strong engagement and attendance for the event.

Together, we designed a series of social media graphics to promote the event across platforms. We created a series of frames and slides, highlighting important vendors and information for attendees that businesses could share on their own accounts in collaboration with the official event account for cross promotion.
Problem to solve: Hai! Japantown needed a fun, cohesive visual identity that could promote the event online and through physical materials, while helping businesses and vendors easily share information with their audiences.
Solution: Working with Shishido Creative, I helped create the playful “Hai! Tea” theme and designed social media graphics, posters, flyers, brochures, and shareable vendor assets for the festival. The cohesive branding helped build excitement, encourage cross-promotion, and create a strong community presence both online and throughout the neighborhood.
